Basically a free account offers you the possibility to synchronize up to 2 Gigabytes of data across your machines, but there are several simple ways to earn additional space totally for free. - First, as already mentioned you can create your account using my (or anybody else's) referral link. Don't worry, it's not only me who will get the bonus. Each of us will be credited additional 250 Megabytes once your account is created and you installed the Dropbox application on one of your machines. - Dropbox says they like students, and yes they do. If you register using your .edu e-mail address (don't worry every school/university is okay here, even if they do not use .edu addresses) every referral will be rewarded with 500 MB instead of 250MB. And if you didn't register using your educational e-mail address, you can simply go to https://www.dropbox.com/edu and submit it afterwards. You'll receive a mail with a validation link in order to confirm it's your address and you're done. Even referrals from the past will be rewarded you 500 MB instead of 250 MB!
